About Anderson and Wilson
Founded in 1966, Anderson and Wilson is still a family company, now run by Ian and Shirley Wilson. Originally servicing the local quarrying and construction sectors, the business has expanded and diversified through the decades to service the needs of whatever our customers require. Priding ourselves on giving our customers what they want at an affordable cost, some of them have been coming back regularly for over 50 years!
We are located in Netherdale Industrial Estate, Galashiels, near to Heriot Watt University’s School of textiles campus. It is easily accessed from the main A7 trunk route through the town and a 5 minute drive from the town centre. Ample parking space is available at the premises for all vehicle sizes.
Centrally placed to cover the Borders, Edinburgh and the Lothians we have 3 fully kitted vans and 1 4×4 pick-up to provide on-site fabrication and repairs.
Our Services
The Engineering Services we provide range from supplying nuts and bolts through alloy wheel repairs, decorative gates and railings, straight and spiral staircases up to steel structures and commercial heating systems.
We are contractors to Scottish Water, Scottish Borders Council, SBHA, Borders Buses, Heriot-Watt University and many other organisations and individuals.
We are accredited by Achilles, SMAS and are on the UVDB Contractors List.
Welding
We have the capability to weld a wide range of metals including:
- Steel
- Aluminium
- Stainless Steel
- Brass
- Titanium
In cast, forged and rolled forms using arc, mig, tig or flame welding techniques depending on application.
Cutting
Our workshop has equipment to flame cut steel up to 40mm thick, plasma cut aluminium and stainless steel up to 12mm thick and guillotine all metal sheets 5mm thick up to 3m in length.
Other Services
We can fold, punch, press, drill and pretty much anything else you would like to do to metal! There is in house machining and turning capacity for precision items.
We also work with a range of suppliers who can provide:
- Sand Blasting
- Painting
- Galvanising
- Electroplating
- Powdercoating
As well as a range of trusted local tradesmen in building, groundworks, electrical, joinery and vehicular mechanics.
On site – we can weld, cut, repair, fabricate and install items,including farm and commercial machinery and vehicles, pipework, fencing, gates, balconies and staircases.
